My baby crawled around inside a playpen, while I worked 12-hour days cleaning the floors, as well as removing the wallpaper. Ha! Everything was starting to fall into place, but it was not quite done. Then I bought more that I had no idea how to use them and had outgrown the space. I started having open houses in my home that saw more than 1 000 visitors came through on the span of a weekend. They could buy anything they saw in the first floor. Growing Days is the result of all this. Alongside my flourishing company, I also started our family. I was trying to find that perfect balance of what it was like starting a new venture while also being a mommy. Growing Days fit perfectly. In 2013, my daughter Nora became our fourth daughter. My business was booming but I wanted a rest. I took a break from creating furniture for vintage homes, and also slowed my pace in order to stay at home and take care of the kids. It was just what I needed. The phone rang again after several minutes. I was getting requests from people requesting for help in home improvement and design of interiors. It was mostly those who came to my open house for furniture. In the course of my work I added new clients to my list one by one. However, it didn't take long before I managed several clients, and had a successful home remodeling business. If you had predicted that this venture that I started would become the premise of a tv show that airs on the DIY Network I probably would have been astonished. It's hilarious to look back about the idea.
